Pacific War Museum

PACIFIC COMBAT ZONE: INVASION BEACH
The
Pacific Combat Zone occupies a 3-acre site and showcases the museum's large artifacts in their unique environments, including an invasion beach with landing craft and artillery. Here is shown a damaged Japanese tank.

PACIFIC COMBAT ZONE: PT BOAT
The
Pacific Combat Zone is a 3-acre indoor and outdoor exhibit area that features some of the Museum's most spectacular artifacts, including a fully restored WWII veteran PT Boat taking on supplies at a dock.

GEORGE H. W. BUSH GALLERY
The
George H. W. Bush Gallery features a 33,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art exhibit on the story of WWII in the Pacific and East Asia. From Pearl Harbor to Tokyo Bay, the epic story of the Pacific War is told here as nowhere else.

ADMIRAL NIMITZ MUSEUM
The
Admiral Nimitz Museum is located in the historic Nimitz Hotel on Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg, TX. Admiral Nimitz lived in the hotel, owned by his grandfather, during his early childhood. This is a starting point for a full tour of the military museum complex.

Bush Gallery

The story of the Pacific side of World War II is presented vividly through photos, displays, artifacts, reconstructed life-sized models and descriptive narrative as one travels through the timeline of the conflict from start to end.

Japanese Rex Floatplane

The museum has several aircraft, boats and weaponry out on display, to bring back vivid memories to the veterans, and to others a sense of what it must have been like for both sides during the War.

Bush Gallery

Floor plan and route to follow through the 33,000 sq. ft. indoor exhibit which sequentially guides one through the entire history of World War II in the Pacific from both the American as well as the Japanese eyes.

Plan Outline Museum Complex

The National Museum of the Pacific War has three sections: The Admiral Nimitz Museum & the Bush Gallery (main indoor exhibit), both of which are

self guided, and the Pacific Combat Zone, which is a block away and is

under guided tour.

Overview Museum Complex

Visitor’s guide to the National Museum of the Pacific War which includes several blocks of exhibits, attractions and facilities. A single price ticket

will enable one to tour and view the War as rarely seen before.

The tour will include a visit to the LBJ Ranch, a National Historical Park often called “The Texas White House”.

LBJ Ranch, located just off the Perdernales River, includes his Ranch House, Garage, Hanger, Friendship Walk, and a Visitor’s Center/Gift Shop.

One can see where business of the country was conducted during the President’s “vacation time”.

LBJ had a passion for exotic automobiles, several of which are on display in the Ranch garage.
